III, 757. Census, 7G. The first collected, and the only edition published of the works of Petrarea, during the 15th Century, edited by Sebastian Brant, of Basle. Contains on the verso of the first leaf a poem by this well-known poet. Former owner’s name on title-page strucked out with a pen, interesting annotations and underlinings by a contemporary hand.—A few insignif. brownstains, but fine copy. Rare. 38. PETRUS LOMBARDUS, episcopus Parisiensis. Liber senten- tiarum. Black letter. 2 columns. 58 lines. 134 leaves (First and last blank, last blank wanting). With large device of Franciscus de Madiis on black ground at the end. Folio. : Old calf, binding wormholed and used. Venice, Hannibal eet Foxius in partnership with Marinus Saracenus and Bartho- lomaeus, 1486. Frs. 300.— Hain-Copinger 10191. Proctor 5010. British Museum V, 407. Cen- sus 139. (Only one copy in America). . Only four works known from this press which worked but six months. Rare The device of this edition is to be found, according to Brit. Mus. only in the Lombardus of 1486. The «Liber sententiarum » of Lombardus is the chief work of this well known scholastic philosopher.—There are prefixed to our copy two leaves probably from a 15th century edition
