![[38 ] Thefe Iaft were not immediately under my Dire&ion, but the principal Cir- cumftances that relate to them are as follow: One of them William Hunter 56 Years of Age, had a large and hard Tumour on the Lower Lip, attended with a painful Sore yielding an ichorous Difcharge. He begun with one Grain of the Deadly Nightfhade, which was increafed afterwards to fix Grains. The Medicine operated fometimes moderately by Urine, very little by Sweat, and fometimes it had ' no apparent Effedt at all. It occafioned a Head-ach and Drowfi- nefs, and two or three times it affedled him with a Dimnefs, fo as to make it difficult for him to read. This Symptom foon went off after the Operation of the Medicine was over. The Sore was judged to look rather better, tho’ I think the Amendment was very in- confiaerable. After taking the Medicine about a Month, he was feized with a Fit of the Gout, a Diforder he was fubjedt to.
