![/ ■is ] - the common Difeharges of the Body : I fay chiefly, becaufe in feveral Inftances, and par¬ ticularly upon the firft Ufe of the Medicine, it is found to have in fome Degree the Power of procuring Sleep and eafing Pain. Allow¬ ing then that the Nightfhade is not endued with any diftinguiflhable fpecific Property, the future Ufe of it may of courfe be di¬ rected with lefs Difficulty and with more Propriety ; fince there remain but two principal ObjeCts to be confidered, namely, what its ufual Operations upon the Dif¬ eharges of the Body are, and what Com¬ plaints may indicate the Ufe of a Medi¬ cine aCting in fuch a Manner.
