Since 1920 there have been a certain number of Qoarlet fever and Diphtheria oases yearly, the incidence being as follows :~ 1920. 1921. 1922. 1923. 1924* 1925. Scarlet fever 26. 41. 3* 3* l4- 13* Diphtheria 5. 3. - 4. 18. 1. Antitoxin is freely used. Practically in every oase of Diphtheria. There have been a few oases of second attacks and return oases of Scarlet fever. 1920. 1921. 1922. 1923. 1924. 1925. Pnaamonia inoidenoe 9» 18. 6. 7. 2. 8. Chiokenpox do. 4. 44. 57* One case of Encephalitis Lefehargioa was notified and Cerebro spinal meningitis. Two cases of Enteric fever below Adelaide - from River Y/ater. LABORATORY WORK. Arrangements are made by the Counoil with the Clinioal Research Association to carry out Bacteriological examination of specimens sent by Medical Practitioners in the district, and these are fully taken advantage of by the local medical men. No primary or revaocinations have been performed by the Medical Officer of Health as such under the Public Health (Smallpox Prevention) Regulations, 1917» but according to the Returns of 3irths, etc. there were 69 vacoinations and 65 exemptions. Measles has been very prevalent during the year, especially in the Villages. No deaths from Influenza were registered during the year although there was an epidemio in the early months of the year most*with gastro intestinal symptoms. Disinfection of premises, eto. is regularly carried out in all cases of notifiable diseases; clothing, bedding, etc. being removed and disinfeoted at the Isolation Hosnital.
