![TUBERCULOSIS Cases on Tuberculosis Register, 31st December, 1949 Males Females Total Respiratory Non-Respiratory Respiratory Non-Respiratory 4 ] 2i 23 io 97 The total figure of 97 is an increase of 9 cases as compared with the figure at the end of 1948 Of the new cases, three were transferred from other districts. Accommodation in Sanatoria is inadequate. I am informed that this is largely due to lack of nurses. The fact that Sanatoria are mostly in the country districts some miles from towns, may be a factor in this shortage, and it may be that considerable increase in pay is the only solution. Doubtless the Regional Hospital Boards and Ministry of Health are giving this urgent matter the fullest consideration.
