The fifth entry relates to a case in which Walter Bloweberme charged Hamo le Stare with having been concerned with him in stealing some clothes at Winchester, and the court resolved that the matter should be decided by judicial combat. The approver having vanquished his former associate, the latter was found guilty of larceny and hanged. The scribe has amused himself by representing the fight and the gallows. 94. Two playing cards.
