$Appointments. New Collectors. Hon. Officers and Collectors. Press Support. local Subscription Lists, which are reprinted annually, but reference may here be made to the retirement of Miss F. E. Kirk (Stockton-on-Tees), with an aggregate of £25\ collected since 1889, of Miss Sleath (Holywell Green), with £250 since 1903, of Mrs. Anthony Wilson (Keswick), with £2M since 1909, and of Mrs. A. G. O’Neill (Castleton), with ^190 since 1901. Other retiring helpers include Miss Burgess (Eccles), £101 since 1903 ; Mrs. Brockbank (Dalston), /*84 since 1903 ; and Miss Mossop (Lamplugh), £20 since 1911. The valuable assistance rendered by these ladies and gentlemen, as well as by many others whose names are not here mentioned, is most gratefully acknowledged by the Committee. Fortunately these losses have been balanced by many new appointments, beginning with the election of the Very Rev. Lionel Ford, D.D., as Chairman of the York Committee, the new Dean thus following the example of his illustrious predecessors. Mrs. H. Roberts has accepted the Presidency of the Warrington Association, and has inaugurated her term of office by the organisation of a successful drawing-room meeting ; Mr. Ernest Woodhead succeeds Mr. Willans in the Chairmanship of the Huddersfield Committee ; Mr. Isaac Clegg follows Mr. Leach in the Hon. Secretaryship of the Rochdale Committee; Miss Hope Dodds replaces Mrs. Rounthwaite as Hon. Secretary and Treasurer of the Gates¬ head Association; Mrs. Robert Thompson takes over the District Treasurership at Stockton-on-Tees from Miss F. E. Kirk ; and Mrs. Charles H. Hey has just been appointed Hon. Secretary and Treasurer of the Halifax District Association in succession to Mrs. Crossley Wright. Despite the arduous nature of the work, which the special difficulties of the times render more and more exacting, ladies continue to proffer their services as Collectors, amongst the more important appoint¬ ments being those of Mrs. Roger Carter (Heaton Mersey), Mrs. Moffatt (Eccles), Miss Porritt (Castleton), Mrs. J. H. Sutcliffe (Ilkley), Miss Frances M. Cockshott (Southport), Miss Wilkinson Crossley (Elland), Miss Linley (Keswick) and Miss Dorothy G. Lord (Rochdale). Again the Committee have the pleasant duty of expressing their grateful appreciation of the very valuable services of the Hon. Officers and Collectors of the various Ladies’ Associations and the members of the County and Local Committees.
