    3'dly, That his lordfhip never thought proper to revife this performance, is a very ftrong argument that he could not be in earned, either in believing himfeif in his own doctrines, or in endeavour¬ ing to imprint fuch a belief on others. That he did not in fad: revife his works' is mahifed, from the numerous contra¬ dictions that occur in them, and thefe often in the fame page ; fo that, for the mod part, they could not efcape the dulled and blunted degree of penetra¬ tion : barely we cannot impute fuch re¬ peated overfights to one who hath fo explicitly afferted, a That to be liable to con trad id yourfelf, is to be liable to one of the greated of human imperfec¬ tions!
