    PREFACE TO NINTH EDITION. Since the issue of the last edition several attempts have been made by the authorities to stop the sale of. “Marriage and its Mysteries.” Up to the present all interference by the police has been a failure. In the future we hope the sale of “ Marriage and its Mysteries ” to have a ten times greater patronage. It is the only book of its kind which deals with the subject of over- _ population in all its branches. It is a cheap book, and. within the reach of all. All young people about to marry should at least become acquainted with one of the most important subjects which is destined to either. promote happiness or misery. This edition contains a new chapter, the importance of which speaks for itself. Some hundreds of letters have been received from all parts of the world. These testimonials have come from Clergymen, Members of Parliament, and people in almost every station of life.
