Sleeping sickness active surveillance: field laboratory

This is a field laboratory in the Democratic Republic of the Congo that is part of an active surveillance programme for human African trypanosomiasis (sleeping sickness). Its purpose is the control of HAT. A number of tests might be performed here, including screening blood for trypanosomes and testing serum.
