$at the fame time, to have the faid Medicines duly prepared, in the fame manner they ufed to be, and Publickly fold, at Prices fo moderate, that the lowed of his Majedy’s indudrious Subjedls may have the Benefit of them. However, as I was inclined to allow Mr. Ward\ Executors a Reafonable Time to difpofe of the pre¬ pared Medicines, which became their Property ; I had thereby Leifure to deliberate upon thefe two principal Propofitions. The latter of the two I always dood mod inclined to adopt. But vain would have been my Inclination in this Particular, had not His Majedy’s mod Benevolent Difpofition and Extenfive Bounty removed an in- furmountable Obdacle which dood in my Way ; by making ample Provilion for certain Ingenious Chymids, who had been employed by Mr. JVard^ the Moment it came to be Humbly reprefented to Him. By His Majedy’s Royal Bounty, then, thefe Men were made willing to give me that Aflidance, which I could not, in Confcience, have otherwife afked or expe6led from them *, as it would have been injurious to themfelves; and without which I could not have made all thefe Medicines known to the World, on account of certain Omidions and Inaccuracies difeovered, upon Examination, in the Book: Since none, but fuch as have been em¬ ployed in making the Chymical Medicines, could give a Clear and Ferfecd Account of the Procefles which hgd been aftually ufed in the preparing of them. Having prefumed to fuppofe that what I have, by Plis Majedy’s Bounty, been enabled to do ; and am now, in confequence thereof, going to do, will prove Beneficial to Mankind in general, it may be upon$
