    “ Mr. Coulson is entitled to the thanks of all parents for his seasonable publication ; and we flatter ourselves that we have done some service by drawing attention to a source of mischief, of the extent of which too many of our fair readers may not have been fully aware.” Morning Chronicle, Aug. 8. “© He shows that by attempting to improve on nature, instead of gaining a fine shape deformity is induced; he gives a shake to the fatal system, which every admirer of woman as she is, and was intended to be, must hope will prove ‘ prophetic of its end.’ Evening Chronicle, Aug. 17. ‘© The author’s professional talents are of the highest order, and his work well deserves the attention of the parties for whose benefit it is more par- ticularly designed.” — West Briton, Aug. 19. “ Tigut-Lactnc.—The public are indebted to Mr. Coulson for bringing this subject prominently forward at the present time.” Medico-Chirurgical Review, Oct. 1836. “ Mr. Coulson’s valuable remarks on tight-lacing will be read with pleasure we are sure, and his advice to ladies in peculiar situations is most necessary.” —Blackwood’s Lady’s Magazine, Sept. 1836. “ The deformities of the chest occasioned by tight-lacing, and the long train of grievous maladies incident to that pernicious practice, should be read by every female, and more especially by every mother.” Kentish Observer, Sept. 22. ‘© We could wish that every mother of a family would possess and study this admirable work. There is, however, another class of females who would profit by a perusal of Mr. Coulson’s work, we mean married ladies in a certain condition, and to whom we very earnestly recommend his in-- structions.°— Town and Country Magazine, Oct. 1836. “ This is a most valuable publication, by a writer in every way compe- tent to do it justice. The statements which it contains are no less painful than startling; and it is the duty of every mother to weigh them deeply, and to instil them into the minds of her daughters.” Gloucestershire Chronicle, Aug. 27.
