![V.—Principal Causes of Deaths. Pneumonia, diarrhoeal diseases, and tuberculosis were as usual the chief causes of deaths. A further decrease in the number of deaths from pneumonia was recorded, the figures for the last five years being as follows :— Year. Total Number of Deaths. The deaths from pulmonery tuberculosis showed a decrease but the deaths from other forms of tuberculosis had increased. Bronchitis caused less deaths than in the previous year.
