![POPULATION, BIRTHS, AND DEATHS POPULATION Population.—The population of the Loroiigh, as recorded at the time of the 1981 census was 147,803. The Registrar-General has estimated the population of the Borough as at mid-year 1940 as 184,000. BIRTHS Births registered during 1940, and birth rate.—During the year 2,505 live births belonging to the ]P)rough were re(iist€red. The live birth rate for 1940 was 18.7.
