Book V. contains the project of the Cardinal for the conquest of Oran, which he offered to do at his own cost. He obtained the chief command for himself and the second for Don Pedro Navarro. In the first expedition he was success- ful ; in the second he was defeated. An earlier edition was published in 1704. 250. 1742.
