WEIGHTS, MEASURES, (9t. - I this country two, kinds of Weights are employed; with one we weigh gold and filver, with the other almoft all other wares. The former we call Zroy-«weigbt, the latter Avoirdupois-weight. .The pounds are diffe- rently divided: the former containing only twelve ounces, the latter fixteen. The pouad, - as well as the ounce, alfo. differs in weight; for the goldímith's pound is lefsrthan the other, but the ounce greater.
