![One sample was taken for chemical analysis and the bacteriological condition was extremely unsatisfactory. It contained 180+ coliform organisms per 100 milliletres of water and these proved tc be E coli of faecal origin. The sample was taken from a land spring at Redesdale, The Moor, where it was proposed to pipe to a farm house and cottage. This scheme was finally abandoned.
