![effects on the secretory activity of the sweat and salivary glands, pilocarpine being much the most powerful. Isopilocarpine is com- paratively less depressant to the hearts of rabbits, but not to those of cats or man. The jaborine of Merck possesses a mild pilocarpine effect. Having finished the characterisation of this group of alkaloids and repeated the work previously done on the subject, I am now engaged on experiments dealing with the constitution of pilocarpine, and hope soon to be in a position to communicate the results to the Society.
