Crick Cambridge University- Cambridge, England Dear Dr. Crick: I am enclosing the folder announcing the Foundation's new Basic and Clinical Research Awards. Be cause of your own important work and position, you have the opportunity to know and evaluate the most important basic and clinical research that is being done today. I hope you will forward to us your nominations for these new Awards. The nominations must be postmarked not later than July 9, 1962, and the Awards will be presented in New York City on November 15, 1962. We hope that these Awards will serve to recognize and honor those individuals or groups whose work contributes to the elimination of the major causes of death and disability. Over 100 Awards have been given by the Foundation in the past 16 years. A total of twelve Nobel Laureates are included in this distinguished group of winners and the great advances of scientific research and vastly im proved health services can be traced in their work.
