![“ The convalescent depot at Ootacmund was announced to be ready for the reception of European invalids,in general orders by Government dated the 8th January 1830; and the first detachment of convalescents arrived at the station in May following. The accompanying tabular statements, Nos. 1 and 2, exhibit separately the number of European soldiers, of Her Majesty’s, and of the Honorable Company’s services, who have been admitted into the depot from its establishment, to the end of October 1832; the diseases on account of which a trial of the Neilgherry climate was recommended; and the degree of success with which the measure has been attended. ‘The general results afforded by these statements, will be at once seen in the following abstract.” a Admitted.
