![Acute Infectious Diseases. SCARLET FEVE R.—Foity-ii ine cases of this Disease were notified during the year. ()ne ease died, ddie previous year one ease died out of tlie tliirty-six eases notified. One or more eases oeeurred eatdt niontli. Seyen notifications were reeeiyed in October, six in eacli of the following months—Martdi, April, May and Aoxember, fiye in June, and four in July. Eighteen eases (36.7^) were sent to the Isolation Hospital at Oldliam. ENTERIC FEVER,—Three eases of Enteric Eexer were notified during thie year. One, a discharged Austra- lian soldier, who had come to work at tlie new Aircraft Eactory, o(*eurred in May. Another, at the Chadderton (him]) occupied by the (J.M.IA.A.A. Corps, was notified at the end of September. The third, a child of two years of age, was notified at tlie end of October. The three cases were remoyed to the Isolation Hospital. All re- coyered. No specimens of blood from suspected cases of J\v])hoid Eever were sent for examination. DIPHTHERIA, inclydiiig MEMBRANOUS CROUP.—Thirty-one cases, imdiiding six at the Chadder- ton (dimp, of this Disease were notified during the year, against fifteen the preyious year. Eiye cases occurred in Mardi, fiye in April, fiye in INIay, four in June, and four in December. Twenty-one cases (1)7.7°^') wei'e sent to the Isolation Hospital. Seyen (-ases ])royed fatal, giying a death-rate of 0.27 per 1,000. East year there were three deaths fi’om this Disease, the death-rate being 0.15 ])er 1,000.
