![PRAYER AYD ]\IEDICINE. BY CLAUDE FLORAIv’CE.. A minister stood in his pulpit And preached to the people one day, Xo matter M'hat trouble was on them, If they would only patiently pray. That everything wi'ong would be righted. This was his doctrine; and then The choir awoke from their napping And grandly responded, “Amen.” But once Ave were standing and watching The minister’s Avife, sick in bed; The minister weeping and praying. The doctor was bathing her head. There Avas Availing and moaning and groaning. Her life it seemed creeping aAvay; Yet the minister, tine to his mission. Had knelt and continued to pray. And Avhile they kept on with their praying. The doctor kept mixing aAvay, And pouring doAvn “fixings” and “physics”— For doctors ain’t much on the “pray.” Well! somehoAV there Avasn’t a funeral. And maybe ’tAvas owing to prayer; But I think they’d have purchased a coflin. Had not that physician been there.
