Keep the head cool with the ice cap, the forehead with spirit wash, and sti- mulate the calves of the legs with mustard jDoultices. He was seen several times dming the day by Mr. Eaven ; had passed a restless niglit; wanted to get up and leave the room; irra- tional in his questions and answers. The bowels were acted on at eight, a. m., and, as the nm-se said, he immediately be- came a new man. Three full evacuations followed. Consultation, ten, p. m. Pulse 80 ; skin moist and cool; tongue cleaner; easily answers questions; states that he does not feel nearly so much pain in the head; has passed a great deal of water; pupils less dilated; contract better; conjunc- tiva much less injected; the forehead and head hotter.
