Manfylde, esq., 1584, aged 67. X. Inscr. and ach. Thos. Jones, esq., served Kings Hen. VIII, and Edw. VI, and Queens Mary and Elizth., 1584. XI. Inscr. in 4 Eng. vv. with anagram and sh. Hester, w. of Hen. Manfeild, esq., 1617, aged 66, “ died in the Catholique Romane faith”. XII. Two shs. ; inscr. lost. All, especially the shs., incorrectly rel. in 8 stones on the nave floor. Church rebuilt on a new site in 1828. Rubbings of the palimps., now fastened down, are in coll. Soc. Antiq., also rubbings taken before the rebuilding, including an inscr. in 14 Eng. vv. to Robt. Cloterbrook, and his last w. Elizth., dau. of Hen. and Jane Manfylde, undated. Thornborough. I. Wm. Barton, 1389, in civil dress, and w., engr. c. 1420, with curious inscr., N. II. Inscr. John Crowche, chaplain, qui quondam hie celebravit pro animabus Johannis Barton senioris et junioris ”, 1473, ‘‘ littera dominicali C.” on sill of window, X.A. III. Inscr. Dorothy, w.
