(London, 1615.) £4 10s S.T.C. 420, two copies listed. A very rare and most interesting Almanack. For each month is given a four-line verse. June has :— ‘Now hunt the Hare, the fearefull Buck pursue Bid idlenesse and Venus sports adieu: The careful Husband that intends to thriue, Will like the Bee bring hony to the hiue.” Opposite the Calendar for each Month a blank space has been left for Notes. Following the title is the satire: —“‘'To the Memory of Mr. Richard Ames: Being a Satyr on a Bookseller, who injur’d him after his death.’ From this it appears that Ames was the author of the three Searches, and other works, including “ Islington-wells,” 1691. A list of some of these books occurs at the end of the present piece.
