$I think this is a plain Demonitration that fome Glands vitiate others, and arrive at a State of Suppuration by flow Degrees, and not by.a fudden Progrefs, I have alfo feen a large Tumor, to which feveral Clufters of morbid and {chirrous Glands adher’d; the Tumor was diftended by a Matter hke Bran, weighing eight Ounces, the Coat of the Glands was hke the Membrane in the Gizzard of Fowls; it was burit, and. emitted Water conftantly _ from the broken lymphatic Veflels through ‘a {mall Pafiage under the Nipple; and was attended with no bad Symptoms for thirty Years. And although the Glands that ad- hered to the Tumor were perfeétly fchirrous, yet the Tenfion being removed by the Emif- fion of the Humour before defcribed, the Tumor was free from Pain, and no Supe puration arofe in all that Time by any ad- ventitious Tumors. I think it alfo plainly appears from what has been faid, that in the foremention’d Diftempers, where the Pus is form’d before the Cure is undertaken, that neither Bath nor Sea ater can be of any great Service. But here we are not always to blame the Negligence of the Patient, for delaying the Affiftance of Phyfick; for oftentimes the Pus is concealed in fome unperceived Tubercle, and$
