L.) created General after Wagram, L. s. 3 pp. folio, Jany. 29, 1820, to Louis XVIII: In which he refers to his Death sentence, which he says is contrary to the letter and spirit of the Amnesty of 12th Jany, 1816. He wishes to return to his country. ‘The Prince d’Eckmuhl (Davoust) has already made representations on his behalf to Louis, and a similar action has been taken by Marshal Groudry. He is ready to be taken prisoner to the Abbaye, but relies on his Majesty’s sense of justice and clemency. x” Genl. Gilly was sent to oppose Napoleon on his return from I[lba, but joined the Emperor and fought at Waterloo. 658 AyRToON (Wm.) Musical Director, A.
