![PREVENTION aND CONTROL OF INFECTIOUS AND OTHER DlNEiiSES Supplies of certain Prophylactic and Therapeutic Agents can be obtained in an emergency from:- The Chief Pharmacist, Ham Green Hospital, Pi}TL, 3ristol. Telephone 027581 2661 The preparations held are: Anthrax Antiserum Human Antitetanus Immunoglobulin Botulinum Antitoxin Ovine Antitetanus Serum Pralidoxime Mesylate (P2S) Special arrangements for the treatment of anthrax have been provided by ibo South Western Regional Hospital Board at Claverton Down Hospital, Bath, This hospital also holds anti-anthrax serum for prophylactic use and for the tree unent of patients sensitive to penicillin. Arrangements for immunization against anthrax can be made through the Wiltshire County Council. Poisons Information Service A National Poisons Information Service has been established at Guy's Hospital, London S.E.I (HOP 7600) to provide information to medical practitioners so as to facilitate treatment in cases of acute poisoning. This 24 hour service is not available to members of the Public. Organophosphorus Poisoning Certain insecticides contain organophosphorus poisons, e.g. parathion. Treatment is by pyrindine-2-aldoxine-methiodide (PAM), A small supply of PAM is available in the Royal Infirmary Pharmacy (Telephone no.Bristol 22041)* An emergency service for the treatment of cases of organophosphorus insecticide poisoning is also provided by the Medical Division C.D.E.E. (Ministry of Supply), Porton, Wilts. (Telephone no. Idmiston 211).
