TT^v.] Hypoderniically near the seat of pain when required. (6) 1^ Linimenti BelladonniB giii, Chloroformi ^i. Sprinkled on warm moist spongiopiline or hot fomentation before its application to the painful part, as required. (7) 1^ Injectionis Morphinae Hypo- dermicae iii^iv-n|_x. [U.S.P. Morphinte Tartratis gr. 1-^, Aqua^ Destillatje]. (Caution, p. 577). As before. Various hyp- notics : (1) A variety of powerful anodynes as above. (2) In alcoholic neuritis (p..577): 1^ Potassii Bromidi gr. xx, Chloral Hydratis gr. xv, Tincturje Hyoscyami 31, Aquae ad ^i. At 10 P.M.; to be repeated in three hours if necessary. Surgical measures (pp. 574 and 575). II. Progress of Case. — General Management.—After several weeks' absen9e of pain, remove means of rest, and commence passive and active movements very gently (p. 576). If pain return and persist, resume rest. If pain do not persist, increase extent and duration of movements gradually. Other Non-Medicinal Measures.—Massage and electricity (p. 576). Medicines.—A nervous stimulant: 1^ Liquoris Strychninre Hydrochloridi 11^v, Acidi Nitrici Diluti ll|^viii, Tincturae Aurantii oSS, Aquae Chloroformi ad ^i. [U.S.P. 1^ Strychnine Hydrochloratis gr. Acidi Nitrici Diluti il\^viii, Tincturae Aurantii Amari 3ss, Aqute Chloroformi 3iv, Aquai Destillatie ad 5i.] Three times a day, after meals.
