GkNTLKxMEN, T have the honour to report for your information tliat during the past year I have inspected tlie Bntcliers’ Shops daily, and the Shambles every Saturday, except during the months of June and July, wlien ] was laid ip:) in consecjneuce of having met with an accident, and found the meat to ije of good (piality wdth two exceptions in the Shambles, in which case the meat was of very inferior cpiality, but not in such state as would have warranted mv seiziim' it. 1 have also inspected during the past year, 14 carcases at the Retford Cattle .Market Slaughterhouse, which had been l)rought there for sale, one of which, the carcass of a Heifer belonging to A.lbert Ostick, J unr., of the Shandoles, I, on the 23rd of August detained, and it warn afterwards seized bv Mv. J, IJ. Kennedy, Inspector of Nuisances, and condemned on the 24th August by Mr. J. N. Fletcher, J.P., and destroved.
