    Whooping Cough. Scarcely any cases have come under my notice during the past year, and there have l:)een no fatal cases. Diarrhoea. There were 4 deatlis from Diarrhceal Di seases during the year, 3 of these being Infants under 1 vear of ao;e. The iramnnir.v which the Borough lias experienced is attributable in no small degree to the comparatively cold weather in the summer niontlis. OTHER DISEASES. Cancer. Them were '5 deaths from Cancer as against 8 in 19013, the latter number being less than that of the 2 preceding years, so that the present figure may be regarded as particularly low for the population. Tubercular Diseases. There were 17 deaths from Tubercular Diseases as against 12 in the preceding year, .jjoui- of these were cases of phthisis, the remainder being other tubercular diseases. Four cases of pul- monary tuberculosis were notified by tlie Boor Law' Medical Officers. Again I am glad to report that there has been no jiecessitv to make use of this « Hospital. Retford Hospital. During the past year a new Scheme of Management has been brought into force Avherebv all the Medical Practioners of the town are now members of the Medical and Surgical Staff. Eight deaths of patients occurred in the Hospital during the year 7 of which were of non-residents. Union Workhouse. There were 17 deaths in the Workhouse during the year, 7 of wffiich were of non-residents. Elementary Schools. It has not been found necessary to order any closure of schools owing to eyidemic disease during the year.
