Bogbean or buckbean (Menyanthes trifoliata L.): flowering and leafy stems with part of rhizome. Coloured etching by M. Bouchard, 1772.

The rhizome of bogbean is used in medicine or can be powdered for bread and the leaves have a use as hop substitutes in beer.
