CoNTEN'S : Granp Voyaces in Latin, the compLere set of 13 Parts, many in two states, with the Klenchus :— Elenchus. Original Edition. 170 . [the dedication signed by Part 8. Two editions: First edition, Part 1. Genuine first edition, but with title-page of the second issue of this edition. The plates are, according to Lord Crawford, of the first and second issues of the first edition mixed, but this would seem to be the case with every copy. Part 2. First edition. Part 3. Genuine first edition, and third edition. Part 4. Two issues: Genuine first edition, with the exception of the first title, which is of the second issue ; and second issue. Part 5. Two editions : First edition, but the text of the second edition ; and second edition with the page of Preface containing the portrait of Columbus both of the first and second editions. Part 6. First edition. Part 7. First and Second editions, with the two small maps not always found ; and second edition, with the rare plate of Adam and Eve on page 58, marked “Jo. Theodore de Bry fe.” This copy contains the piece Historie Antipodum, etc., paged 129-160, which according to ts bibliographers belongs to part 1X, Part 9. First edition; and second edition with the piece paged 129-60 at the end. Parts 10, 11, 12, and 13. These last four parts were only published once, and in much smaller numbers than the others. Consequently they are very rare, and are most valuable acquisitions. A map of the Philip- pines in Part 10 is usually repeated in Part 11 likewise. Such is not the case here.
