Represents tJie aorta and the] anterior surface of a human heart ivhich was hypertrophied, and tveighed four pounds. The trunk and some of the branches of tlie left coronary artery were ossified. The pulmonary artery has been cut away close to the right ventricle. A 2)ortion of the wall of the right ve7itricle has been removed to expose the cavity and tlie septum between the ventricles. The serous mem- brane has been reflected off from the cardiac fascia, a small ])ortion only of which has been left covering the ventricle. Natural size. a. The arch of the aorta. b.
