'Luciy Intendant of Strajburgh, order¬ ed, in the Month of July, 1765, the Stir-'* geoti Major of the Troops garrifoned in that City, to reprefent the State of their Sol¬ diers in each Regiment, who had been treat¬ ed by thefe Pills. ... In the Regiment of Pi cardie, out of twen¬ ty-three Soldiers, four had Pains of their Limbs, without any other Symptoms when they entered. Thefe Pains continued the fame. Six others were not cured. They either had Cancres, fiffulous Buboes, with indurated Glands, or Condyloma’s. All thofe who had taken the Pills for the Gonorrhoea, were not at all relieved. One Soldier of the Royal Artillery, after having taken 3000 of thefe Pills, had an Ex- oftofis of the Tibia. He fpeaks nearly the fame of the Regiment de la Marche Prince, &c. whofe Venereals remained from 50, 60, to 78 Days in the Hofpital of Mezieres j and fays, thefe Inftances afford the mod po- fitive Proofs againft the contrary Atteflation of the Surgeon Major at Mezieres.
