![any years ago, in a previous epidemic, the Improvement Commissioners came to the wise resolution that disinfection should be carried out more effectually, and gave orders that inquiries should be made about suitable apparatus; but the matter ended in good intentions, and it is left to their successors to carry them out. Where Isolation is inadequate—and especially at the beginning of infectious disease—it is imperatively necessary in erder to arrest, or limit, the diffusion of disease, to destroy all germs. In my dual capacity of Medical Officer of Health and District INIedical Officer, the whole parish is under my constant purvicAV. INIany minor insanitary matters are attended to as the result of my ])ersonal directions. There is but little trouble in getting official notices of nuisances attended to.
