The language of medicine has hitherto been of such a character as to be unintelligible to the common reader, but in this Manual, technical terms are entirely avoided, thus rendering it in this respect very suitable for a family book. It has other advantages of equal importance. Every disease is described under its most common name, and the medicines to be given are explicitly diiiected according to indication j appended to each is a plain direction with regard to dose and administration. The Work embraces a concise view of all diseases incident to the Climate of the United States, either North, South or West, and the most modem treatment has been given. The diet to be observed while under Homoeopathic treatment is also minutely detailed at the conclusion of the description and treatment of each disease.
