Benyon.—• Mr. Newton, upon his Arrival at Litchfield, wrote a very affec¬ tionate Letter (dated December i, 1750,) wherein he has thefe Words. --(N°. VI )-— I got to Highgate in a little Lime, and payd my Compliments to our young Ladys, and as I thought I had fiufjicient to fierce fior both Occafions, gave each of them one of the Ribbands you defiign d for my Sifters, and then proceeded for St. Al¬ ban A After this he mentions feveral difagreeable Circumftances in bis Journey to Litchfield, and concludes thus; — They are all well, and my Father, as he before knew my Bujinefs, dire Lily told me what he would do fior me, which was to let me have three of the five hundred Pounds I wanted, befides what he before defiign d; as he had a much better Opinion than 1 of Tom, he is not a little incenfiedat his Behaviour to me on this Account. 1 have a great Deal more to fay to my dear eft Angel, but as 1 have had three Summonfies from the old Gentleman, muft defer it till next Poft, and conclude with the Af- furance of being eternally my dear eft Patty's mofi affectionate and ever confiantly loving Andw.
