XII.)-I am glad to find by yours, that the Jiff air of the D fillers will not turn out difadvan¬ tage cu fly for Mr. Newton ; and ends as before— 1 am, my dear Mrs. Newton, &c.-- By the Subftance, Form, and Direc¬ tion, of Capt. Morres's Letters, it evidently appears, that he looked upon his Siller-in-law, as abfolutely married to Mr. New¬ ton, though he had before been informed, that, for prudential Reafons, it was for a Time to be concealed from the Family. -— Soon after her Return to England, being in a very ill State of Health, and at the fame Time breeding, (he apprehended her- felf in great Danger ; upon which fhe wrote the following tefta- mentary Letter to Mr. Newton; and condantly declared, (while fhe had Freedom of Speech) that, in Order to prevent a Difcovery of their Marriage, the faid Letter was, at Mr. Newtons Defire iigned by her Maiden-Name. It is as follows --(N°. XIII.) — Having pa fed to the moft Fart of my Acquaintance in England under the Title of your Wife, it is to be prefumed they will not think lefs fo, after I have pa fed thro the Valey of this Life. For which Reafon, thd not the only one, it is, why I defire you would take the Trouble of feing performed the laft Duties I fall require. It is not long ago, fince 1 burnt a Will I had made, at a Time when my Fortune might have permitted me to leave fome fin all Remembrances to my Friends : but by various Means I have found in that Rejpecl the Cafe altered, and a Will become unnecejfary to me.
