ALTHOUGH we may not expect to obtaifi, from the medical works of the ancients, any ‘great variety of information, immediately ap- plicable to practical purposes, we may still feel a sufficient interest in the history of a sci- ence, which deeply engages our attention, to induce us to inquire, how long the few truths, which are fully established with regard to it, have been sufficiently demonstrated.
