No text description is available for this image![61 or) bo 63 GAUDEN (Sir Dennis, Sheriff of London, brother of Bishop Gauden, and friend of Samuel Pepys), Letter signed, dated Victualling Office, 16th Xber, 1667. with regard to the — reduction of the Victualling Ports. 2 pp. folio, £1 15s. Pepys was for a time Surveyor-General of the Victual- ling Office, and proved himself a friend to Gauden, who in recognition, made him several presents, including a fine pair of flagons which he gave Pepys in 1664. Gauden was knighted at the laying of the foundation-stone of the new Royal Exchange after the Great Fire. GENTLEMEN PENSIONERS.—Certificates of these several Board Wages due unto the Erle of Sussex, Captaine of the Gentlemen Pensioners, with the names of all the Pensioners, amounts paid to each, ete. signed by the Earl of Sussex. Manuscriet, dated anno octavo Regne. Elizabeth [1566], written on 2 long sheets of vellum, slightly defective, £7 10s. GENTLEMEN PENSIONERS.—Certificate of wages due unto Thomas Lord Viscount Fauconberg Captaine of the Board of Gent] Pentioners, with names of Pensioners, and amount paid to them. Manuscript, written upon a sheet of vellum, incomplete at foot, dated Anno Caroli secund: 27 (1676). £1 10s. unto the Honble john Lord Lovelace, Captaine of the Band of Gentlemen Pentioners, with Pensioners names, amounts paid to each, etc. MANUSCRIPT, written upon a long sheet of vellum, dated anno quarto Guilelmi et Marie [1692]. £2 16s. the third person, dated Pyrmont July 20th N.S. [? 1725], stating that an expedition against Sweden was _ being fitted out at St. Petersburg. 4 pp. folio, 18s. Pyrmont, from which the draft is written, was the favourite watering-place of George I in Hanover.
