The boundaries of the City and Royal Burgh of Edinburgh were extended in 1901. The Registration Districts were re-arranged in 1903. The buildings and grounds of Edinburgh Fever Hospital were disjoined from Colinton and annexed to Morningside Registra- tion District in 1904; this area being beyond the boundaries of the City, the population thereof is not included in the figures throughout this return, The buildings and grounds of the Infectious Diseases Hospital for the Burgh of Leith, which are within the City of Edinburgh, were disjoined from the Registration District of St George and annexed to the Registration District of North Leith in 1905. The figures in the lower half of this Table show the population within the present boundaries of the City, and within the present boundaries of the Registration Districts. The figures for 1911 and 1901 in this-part of the Table refer to similar areas and thus are comparable. TABLE VIII.—Particulars of Registration Districts. | This Table is omitted as unnecessary, the Registration Districts so far as dealt with in this volume being entirely within the Burgh and Civil Parish of Edinburgh, c](https://iiif.wellcomecollection.org/image/b32177264_0001_0021.jp2/full/800%2C/0/default.jpg)
