An unconventional and delightful presentation by means of animated diagrams, actual experiments and stop-frame animated cartoon characters of the theory and clinical practice of muscle relaxants, with particular reference to tubocurarine, succinylcholine and decamethonium. Segment 1 In a dramatisation, a hospital room is shown, with a patient unconscious in bed. A doctor is told to use a relaxant, but appears confused. An animated model man in a dress suit appears and speaks in rhyming verse about how the doctor need not be confused. He proceeds to explains about muscle relaxants and how they work, with the aid of diagrams and animations. He also discusses antidotes to relaxants. Segment 2 The animated gentleman describes how impulses power muscles through the nerves with the aid of experiments and animations. He describes the two types of relaxants, competitors and depolarisers. The molecular structure of different relaxants are shown and discussed.
