This complaint is fo far from being relieved by bleeding that it conftantly grows worfe after it, efpecially if the evacuation is in any conliderable quan¬ tity. The oily remedies feldom fail to exafperate this cough, which at firft is dry, frequent, and often extremely violent, but which feldom fails to give way to one or two gentle pukes, and the occafional ufe of mild purges. The cough, as in other cafes, often continues from habit after the caufe that gave rife to it has been removed, and may then be checked by opiates.
