With regard to the particular compofi- tion to be employed, I mull: obferve, that in general 1 have met with the greateft fuccefs in the cure of this complaint from, vitriolic injections, or thofe prepared from a pure fait of zinc. Thefe are prefera¬ ble to any in which mercurial powders are fufpended, fince there is apt to be a confiderable fediment depofited, and this being conveyed into the urethra, is fome- times found to excite irritation and pain in a confiderable degree.
