Sometimes when the patient has been weakened by tedious labour or flooding, there will be inability to pass water so long as she remains in the suj^^ine ji;)Osition; but a slight change of position, such as elevating the shoulders (if not otherwise improper), or turning on the elbow and knees, will suffice to overcome the difficulty. IwontineiKe of Urine after BeJkerij—Treatment Q^. Incontinence of urine is occasionally a result of tedious labour, and is caused by temporary paralysis of the spliincter vesicas from long-continued pressure. If tke power of retaining the urin-e be not recovered in a few days, preparations of iron or other tonics .should be given. The following formula is a suitable one :— R Trne. Cantharidis, Trie. Ferri Perchlor., ail 5J-. Syrupi, 5ij. A(]^ufe, oviiss. j\r. Sumat. sextam partem ter die. Should this fail, the following mixture ma-y be had recourse to.— S, Li(j[Uor Strychnite, iilxxx. Syrupi, 5ij. Yvx. Ferri Perchlor.., Sij- A(?[UJie, 5viiss. M. Capt. sextam partem bis die.
