Biflle. Proved 27th February, 1702-3, in the Here- ford Diocefan Court, by William and Jofeph Watts. Benjamin Prichard married Gertrude, fixth daughter of William Watts, M.A., Vicar of Much Marcle and Canon Refidentiary of Hereford (fee ante^ 78). On ift October, 1722, file joined with her eldeft fon, Benjamin Prichard, in the fale of I-12th part of the manor of Ledbury. She was buried there, 12th March, 1727-8, as “ Mrs. Gertrude Prichard, widow.” They had iflue nine fons and five daughters. I. Benjamin Prichard, “ y® fon of M*^ Benjamine Prichard Redtor of Croft & Gertrude his wife fixth [fifth ftruclc out] daughter of M*' Will’ Watts vie. of Marcle was baptifed May y® 22^* 1679” (Much Marcle reg.). He matriculated at Oxford, 26th May, 1693, from Brafenofe College, became Fellow on the Elton Foundation, 17th Odlober, 1696, till 1719, B.A. 26th January, 1696, and M.A., 4th July, 1699. He was ordained Deacon, i6th March, 1700, and Prieft 23rd May, 1703, by Peter-William, Bifiiop of Oxford, in Chrift Church Cathedral. He was inftituted to the Redlory of Stonesfield, co. Oxford, 5th March, 1704-5, Patron, the Queen, which he held till 1718-9, together with his fellowfiiip, and on 7th February, 1718-9, to the Redlory or Portion of RatclifFe, Stepney, and the fame day to the Redlory of St. George’s, Middlefex, Patron, Brafenofe College; and to the Redlory of Corring- ham, ElTex, 22nd May, 1725, on the prefentation of Robert Biddulph, his coufin. The laft two benefices he held till his death, which occurred 2nd Odlober, 1726. {Hift. Reg-1 1726, Chron., p. 38.) He was nominated Clerk of the Market,” Oxford, by the Univerfity, loth Odl., 1718, and ferved for one year. His will is to the following effedl. In the Name of God, Amen. Benjamin Prichard, clerk, and Redlor or Portionift of Ratcliff, Stepney, Middlefex. To my fon, Benjamin, the 200 pound bond which I have upon my brother Randolph, and what money I have in Mr. Francis Cockaine’s hands, and likewife houfes and tenements in Lancafhire left to my wife by her father and mother. To my fon, Thomas, the 400 pound bond I have in Mr. Thomas Chefhyre’s hands. To my fon, William, the 300 pound bond and the 100 pound note I have in the Rev. Dr. Robert Shippen’s hands.* Dr. Shippen, my brother Herbert Prichard, and Mr. Francis Cockaine, to affifl my executrix in the management of her affairs. To my wife, Anne, the falary which will be payd after my deceafe by the Mercers’ company, and all my books, houfehold goods, plate and manuferipts. She foie executrix. 2nd May, 1726.
