VIII, 1535-6, and 24th 06lober and 2nd Decem- ber, 28 Hen, VIII, 1536, Courts of thefe manors were held in the name of Henry, Earl of Worcefter. About feven years after the grant of the manors of Andrewes and Halfmote to the Earl and Countefs of Worcefter for their lives, the King, 30th Odlober, 1538, granted the reverfion of the fame to Sir Robert Dacres, Knt., Mafter of Requefts and P.C,, and his heirs (Pat., 30 H. VIII, p, I, m. 5). Sir Robert muft have bought up the exifting life intereft, for 26th November following he demifed the premifes to feoffees, and he is termed the owner in the rental of 1540-1, which here follows. He died in 1543, having married Elizabeth, daughter of George Mannock, of Giffords Hall, Suffolk, and widow of Thomas Denny. Henry, Earl of Worcefter, did not die until 26th November, 1549, and Elizabeth, his widow, until 1565. A Rentall of all & fingler afwell the freholders as copyholders conCnyng the manors of Andrewyes & Hallfmote in Chefthunt in the Counte of Hertford [according] to the olid rentalls therof & as the Court -ly & trewly in the yere of the Reygn of. . .
