    The following list is appended for use in connec- tion with the death certificate on page 1T2. It is compiled from the list of diseases used ])y the Ivcgisti'ar-General ot Birtlis and Deaths for England and Wales, and is believed to contain the names of all mortal maladies likely to occur at sea. A strict adherence to this brief list will very greatly assist the efforts of the Kegistrar-General of Shipping and Seamen in obtaining from tlie official log-books accurate returns of mortality at sea.
