![]7 The system of sewers throughout the district gen- erally, have been maintained during the year in a fairly satisfactory sanitary condition. Periodical flushings of the branch sewers have been carried out, as also have the road gullies. At the out-tall works, the precipitation tanks were taking on the action of a septic tank ; but structural alterations are contemplated which will minimise this occurring in the future. The effluent is afterwards conveyed to irrigation areas on the land provided. The amount of acreage is amply sufficient. The supply for both domestic and trade purposes, has been sufficient and is obtained from the Crummock gravitation main. It amounts approximately to 46T gallons per head per day, of the inhabitants. Com- plaints at times have been received from varying areas of the oxidation of iron service pipes and have always received attention. Annexed to this report are the usual Statistical Tables.
